The app needs some improvement for outside China. I can't the using my phone since the app can only recognize China's moble phone number. Also, when setting the street address for navigation, thr app doesn't really recognize the street name and city. I tried several times and find it better to use shop, company, or tourist attraction nearby for finding my destination. But the navigation is pretty good after correctly setting everything.

I used the app in Spain. Comped with other navigation apps, gaode's advantage is: it provided oral guidance which lane I should use or not use, before approaching the crossings. Google and Waze does bad at this point. The disadvantage is it doesn't offline map and the communication speed with the server is slow. Hope the team could improve this soon.

The taxi section is fairly good, but as a map app it's virtually useless. You can only search for locations within a certain area of a city, or at specific distances from your location. Totally idiotic and counter-intuitive design

I tried logging in using WeChat and Alipay, both still lead to a page asking me for a phone number from China to finish the process. I can't access details of places without the function popping up when i want to view more details.

Have been using this app every time I visit China, but am unable to now because am not able to continue using the app without a china phone number. How does linking the to a phone number relate to security concerns?? Can't even tie it to my china social media s. Ridiculous design, please fix it soon. Extremely disappointed. Would give zero stars if I could.

It's very hard to use after the update. So many ads that I can't find the real function entry. The lane direction board is blue as the sky. It's difficult to identify the right lanes from the board especially with the black lanes that not options. So bad!

Works best for me in mainland China where Google fails, use Pleco to read screenshots if you can't read Chinese. Foreigners will need to get a SIM card from a flagship store of a service provider to get a local phone number, which is required by almost every app you need in China.

Well, this app is actually a collection of ride hailing, maps&navigation, shopping, news, weather, car services and more. It has too many functions that a normal maps app shouldn't have. Its notifications are annoying too though can be turned off manually. It ONLY s Chinese though ed to Google Play Store, which makes it difficult to use if the mainly speaks another language. Hopefully it can be upgraded to a complete OS one day. Two stars.
