Avoid this app. I really enjoy the news content, but each time I used it, I would close the window after using it. The next day, my battery would drain extremely fast. My phone would then alert me that this app was still open and u my battery. My phone would then recommend a "force quit." After that, my battery would function normally.

I ed the app because it looks like you aren't posting the magazine issues on the website anymore. The only reason I accessed the magazine via the website was to print the puzzle page. However, I don't see a way to print from the app. Very disappointed. Please either implement that functionality in the app, or go back to posting the issues on the website.

I think the app has serious connectivity issues even on a fast wifi or 4G connection. It appears that the developers may have the socket connection timeout set too low or something like that. Or else the server itself isn't responding quickly enough. I'm just speculating because I constantly get the completely useless error message "An unexpected error has occurred". There shouldn't even BE a network call involved in opening the latest issue of The Week. It should be cached on the device.

The app has been updated again and it's worse than ever. There's no PDF option and the quality of the is terrible with fuzzy print and out of focus photos on many pages. The option to access the fast page navigation bar at the bottom of the screen allowing you to navigate anywhere in the magazine quickly is gone.

Update: app has been fixed and once again does what it has supposed to. I'm back to subscribing and mostly read the magazine on the phone. I love the full screen dark mode where even the status bar disappears. This is the only news app I know where the screen shows nothing but the article text. Nice job!

There may be some bugs possibly with older iOS or Android versions on cellphones. However there are now instructions on the first page you get once you've signed in on the top left. No affiliation with ths magazine but feel free to seek out my info if any help is needed. Older fans may need their glasses to read on the cellphone and older tablets/versions may be problematic.

This is the most battery-hungry app I've ever seen. I have to ration the time that I read it, and God forbid I forget to take the 13 step process to go in to my phone's settings and do a "force close" of this specific app when my kids start screaming for me and then i don't get back to the magazine until that night, bc if I don't, my phone battery is dead in an hour. For reference, typically my phone lasts all day, easily, except for Saturday when I (try) to access this magazine that I pay for.

EDIT they were finally able to fix the problem. I can with my now. \EDIT I have the same problem everyone else has been having. A recent app upgrade has made me unable to to my . Customer service has been less than useless on fixing this issue. I have been a borderline religious reader of The Week since 2009, but now I'm about to call Customer Service (again) and ask for a full refund. This is beyond unacceptable.
