I local journalism as it is a valuable resource. That said, disappointed with this app. It requires re- constantly - at best every other time I open it. Good for browsing headlines but a hassle if you want to actually read articles. Add to it the price of my monthly digital subscription continues to increases without any notification or warning every 12 months. I understand good journalism costs money to produce but the cost is now outweighing the value being offered.

I use this app daily for local news, especially sports coverage. It has become an increasingly frustrating experience. The constant requirements, sometimes multiple times daily, is infuriating. Why the tight security? Lately, some articles (typically those with links to social s) cut off in the middle of the article, making it impossible to read the rest of the story. It is quite aggravating. I've emailed Customer Service twice with no reply. Do you care about your subscribers?

As a resident of KC, I used this app for years and continued to use it after moving. Like many others, including my wife, I have had to re- way too often. That trend has only gotten worse. Today, I have had to no fewer than 4 times. It is ridiculous that this issue, which has been brought up in these reviews for years, can't be fixed. Since I no longer live in KC, I am really questioning whether my subscription is worth the frustration.

Crashes continuously. Won't even open anymore on samsung android. Un-installed and reinstalled. When it "worked" you'd always get a different story than what was clicked. Update: well it launches and then closes again. The next time it stays open but then I have to again. If you browse for a few minutes it starts opening the wrong stories. It's an indexing problem when a story gets added but you would think they could come up with a scheme that would survive updates.

No search. No app method. App shows a story in section after section (when it is tagged as being in many categories) so I scroll past similar content looking in vain for the actual story I want. Typically one seen in notifications. But when I click on a headline in the Android notification area does it load that story? Nope. Just the app on the main page so I must hunt. , no keyword search feature. At least none I can find.

This app and the customer service both need some improvement. The app locks up routinely, requiring a "force stop." I deleted the app and reinstalled it but then couldn't sign in again because of some stupid verification process that is a recurring loop. It says I have too many devices and I am the only one who uses it. No way to resolve it online and customer service doesn't seem to know what I am talking about. Very frustrated. I print out some puzzles, Jumble always has right margin missing

Disregarding the journalistic abyss the Star has fallen into over the past couple of decades, the app by itself is terrible. I literally have to force quit the app every time I close it and try to return to it, or it just hangs on the "The Kansas City Star" screen. It's always a mystery whether a tap or swipe is going to take me to another issue, or another page, or maybe just open an article. I guess it adds some adventure to my life, but that's not worth what I pay for my subscription.

If I try to open any articles, I get a blank screen. The home page loads. Customer service page is a blank screen. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Did nothing. Oh, and it is still pretty much impossible to share stories using the app- do you not want people to be able to see your product on social media?? GIANT FAIL AGAIN, KC STAR.
